These tattoos are becoming increasingly popular because they are so unique and customized to suit the individual's personality. Best of all, they do not look like all of the other tattoos you see on people you walk by on the street. If you are going to get a tattoo, you certainly want it to look like a one of a kind, right?Tribal tattoos typically represent a particular indigenous tribe or are a symbol of a tribe. They typically have a lot of meaning, such as the cross does for certain spiritual and religious groups. Christians would be apt to get a tattoo of a cross while people of Irish descent may choose to get the Celtic cross emblazoned on their back or arm. Other people may choose a Gothic motif for a darker look.
Of course, the skull is also a popular choice these days for clothing and for tattoos. For men, especially, it is a very masculine and powerful choice. Another manly choice would be the dragon tattoos that have become incredibly popular.For women, a popular choice would be the butterfly as it symbolizes transformation and beauty. Some tribes also have special meaning for the butterfly as well. Women tend to choose floral designed tattoos as well. With tribal tattoos, this can have a meaning related to love and life. There is a lot of room for variation when dealing with flowers.
Of course there are many other tribal art tattoos that you can choose from, all of which relate to more spiritual things such as the sun and the moon. There are even tattoos of your zodiac sign that you can have put on!
